The Antelope

The public house was designed to act as a local landmark. Its exterior is predominantly red brick with stone dressings to the principal elevation, with brown brick used to the rear. The upper storeys are articulated with tall, vertically proportioned windows and subtle angled bay forms, giving the building a civic presence rather than that of a small neighbourhood pub. Surviving Victorian details, such as the claret-coloured tiling to parts of the ground floor, further reinforce its historic public-house character.
